Product Description

Description

Miss Kittin's special spot in the electro world is expressed neatly on the line from the 1980s-punk-sinister "Grace", off her diverse 2008 effort, BATBOX: "I'm scared of taking too much space". The singer-DJ's concoctions seem to gently take from and give back with equanimity to the musical universe floating about her. While the record opens on the classic disco-infused rave-ness of "Kittin is High", the influences range from Yaz ("Batbox") to Prince and Wire ("Solidasarockstar").

5.0 out of 5 stars Tres Chic Mademoiselle, 16 Feb 2008
By The Wolf (uk) - See all my reviews
(TOP 500 REVIEWER)
Miss Kittin ( aka Caroline Herve ) is back with a superlative
new offering of her signature electrochic.
The mood is, as ever, dark but playful.
Droll, seductive incantations, half sung, half spoken,
weave in and out of the uber funky synth arrangements.
This is a truly genre defining feast to get the feet of even
the hardest hearted night creature twitching on the dancefloor.
Trust me....you need these bats in your belfry!
Prrrrrrr......!

5.0 out of 5 stars Fantastic! A Must Have!, 16 April 2008
I stumbled upon the music of Miss Kittin while listening to a web radio stream, being immediately captivated by her voice on the song 'Wash and Dry' from Batbox, her latest album. After listening further on her MySpace site, I immediately ordered Batbox (and other Miss Kittin CDs such as First Album, I.Com, On the Road, and Radio Caroline). I have since become a devoted fan of Miss Kittin!

This is great music for dancing, partying, driving, and relaxation. If you are curious about electronica or techno musical genres, I highly recommend Batbox as the place to start. If you are into dance and DJ forms of music, Batbox is a must have!

If you are familiar with Miss Kittin, you will be blown away by the significant musical development (lyrical depth, mature themes, and vocal control) she has experienced since her last solo album, I.Com. Batbox must be added to your collection.

Give it a listen. Then buy Batbox. You will not be disappointed.

4.0 out of 5 stars Miss Kittin sticks to her guns, 8 Oct 2008
By Mr. Stuart Bruce "DonQuibeats" (Cardiff, UK) - See all my reviews
(TOP 500 REVIEWER)    (REAL NAME)
More of the same from Miss Kittin, following up from her previous album "I Com" with a similar-sounding offering. This time round the tone is a little bit gentler and less nasty, but the principle's the same- Miss Kittin lending some international chic with half-sung half-spoken vocals on top of slick electroclash synths and beats.

Electroclash sort of came and went around the time of Fischerspooner and while Miss Kittin wasn't the huge star she might have been, she's stuck to her guns and put out another decent but not groundbreaking electro album. If you liked any of her previous solo albums or stuff with The Hacker, then you'll enjoy this.

Generally speaking, I don't like to buy a pig in a poke, so I need to listen to samples of all the songs on a CD and if I did not find this one in mp3 section, I would not buy it... Read more

I love this. It's reminiscent of bleepy school disco music from the 80's, only with one distinct advantage: it's good. Read more
