Product Description

Amazon.co.uk Review

Bat Out of Hell is probably remembered most for its rock operetta of every teenage boy's plight, "Paradise by the Dashboard Light". Certainly the most dramatic piece on the album, it engaged Meat Loaf's testosterone-crazed tenor in an incremental game of sexual bargaining with the resistant but willing, Ellen Foley. By employing exaggerated power chords, screaming vocals, over-the-top arrangements and a sense of rock and roll as Broadway theatre, Bat made Meat Loaf a star. Jim Steinman's contribution to the record is invaluable. His classically tinged piano gave a certain lush quality to his collaborations with Meat Loaf, making songs like the hit "Two Out of Three Ain't Bad" all the more emotional. Larger than life in every sense of the word, Bat Out of Hell sometimes sounds a bit dated but has retained most of its appeal.--Steve Gdula

This is an amazing album which is ideal for anyone who likes their music with a dash of theatre.

Every track is meticulously put together although I believe the album sounds better if track 1(Bat out of Hell) is placed after track 7. This is because to me that song is like the peak of the album and incorporates everything which has gone before.

Also listen to it from start to finish a few times through headphones.

Don’t worry if your friends ridicule you as this is an album worth listening to at any age( It also covers every emotion so is ideal for any moody teenagers).

Enjoy

R

The Bat is best 20 May 2003

Is it cool to say your all time favourite album was introduced to you by your Mother? 1977 this came out when I was 7 and I still listen to it today. All revved up with no place to go... was the first song I ever picked up the air guitar to. This album is nothing short of a legend in the rock/metal business (in my opinion) and still sounds superb along side all modern offerings.

Original with a bonus 9 April 2003
Format:Audio CD
This is meat loaf's first finest album he ever made and now it comes with a bonus DVD of "hits out of hell" which saves forking out 15.99+ just for the DVD. Also the disk is remasterd for superior sound quality.
If you like meat loaf and have yet to get "Bat out of hell" then this is for you.
P.S DVD songs are NOT the music video's off the TV.

Priceless work of art.
I'll ask you a question. Why do people laugh when you say Meatloaf is your favourite performer? The music is great and listened to by as many people today as in the 70's. Read more
