About the Author
Bobbye ("Babs") Land shares her Alabama farm home with a myriad of pets including, in order of size, a horse (Story), a cow (Elizabeth), a goat (Daisy), 4 dogs (Michael, Dixie, Rose and Halle), a cat (Merlin Monroe), a conure (Chuckles) and 3 dwarf hamsters. She is active in English cocker rescue as well as always being willing to offer a foster home to any animal in need. An avid wildlife watcher, her home is a wildlife haven. Her work resume includes not only years as a writer (with multiple books, magazine articles and columns) but also 25 years breeding and exhibiting purebred dogs, 7 years as a veterinary assistant, and 7 years as the owner/manager of a pet grooming shop.
Wayne Hunthausen, DVM, consulting veterinary editor and pet behavior consultant, is the director of Animal Behavior Consultations in the Kansas City area and currently serves on the Practitioner Board for Veterinary Medicine and the Behavior Advisory Board for Veterinary Forum.
