2.0 out of 5 stars Out Dated, 27 Feb 2004

This review is from: The Basics Of...Radio Control Model Cars (Paperback)
This book was probably slightly out-dated when it was published, in 1995 (9 years back).

The hobby is far more advanced now, with cheaper kit's available. it's recommendations are poor as it was based on prices 9 years ago which have changed drastically.

As far as content is available the only part worth reading is the 4 pages of 'how to paint a body shell'. The electronics section gives you advice on electronics which you can't even purchase anymore. 20 pages of the book are also just a list of rules and importers which are out of date and have changed.

If you want my advice to magazine, as they give you all the tip's you need plus advice on equipment. 'Radio Race Car International' and 'Racer' are a couple of examples of widely available monthlies which you may find helpful.

This is an excellent book, it gives you a great knowledge for starting off, what to buy & how to modify, and how to build your first car. Well worth the money!
