Product Description

Product Description

Practical and easy to read, this book contains a case study of both levels of process mapping and guidelines for when to use each type. It details the importance of process mapping in examining a work flow and customer-supplier relationships as the foundation for appropriate improvements. The author provides step-by-step instructions for creating and interpreting a relationship process map and a cross-functional process map, and reviews the commonly used flowchart. Highlighting the relationship of process mapping to flowcharting, he delineates the differences between a cross-functional process map, a relationship map, and a flowchart, providing detailed examples of why and how each is used in specific situations.

Easy but too short 13 Jun 2001
By A Customer
Format:Paperback
The book is very good, when explaining the basics of process mapping but very short. It took me literally less than 45 mins to read the whole book.

Format:Paperback
This books is an easy introduction, giving a template for mapping processes, without confusing the novice with alternatives methods/practises. (It takes less than 1 hour to read through, expensive for what you get.)

I like the way it explains a mapping method by listing the questions it answers, without being specific to an industry. Another 40 pages would have developed some of the ideas and let the reader see what can be achieved with mapping.

Very straightforward.
Useful at all levels: a must for the beginners and a very handy quick guide for anyone working with process study/improvement in any organization.
It is worth every cent.
