4.0 out of 5 stars THE BOOK AS A WHOLE 6 Aug 2012
Format:Paperback
A highly informative and engaging text. Carefully instructed and the information and necessary details are clearly laid out. Presents a wide variety of situations, circumstances and designs that are done accordingly with respect to culture, lifestyle, purpose, place and people. The designs that are shown are not only stimulated in big industrial scale but also in the scale as small as that of of a room and human, hence, providing a variety of ideas and thoughts to improve and polish ones own creativity.
This book is very handy for beginners in the field of design and architecture as it can be a fine jumpstart for those who are getting in this field.
The book cleverly presents the purpose, effect and the layout of elements and objects in a room that vary according to the size, definition of the room. It also succeeds in showing the influence of contemporary arts in modern interior architecture.

By Lynsey
Format:Paperback
This book focuses on the idea of placing or inserting an `object/element' within an interior in order to alter and manipulate the way the space is used.

It is really helpful that the author has included a wide variety of conditions that the designer could be faced with including working with objects for exhibition or display purposes and objects for both new and existing interiors. The reader is also encouraged to consider how the existing conditions such as the form, function and choice of materials can influence the overall effect of the space.

I really enjoyed the way in which prominent and influential case studies and high-quality images are used throughout in order to discuss and explain key ideas and themes. This made the book really easy to follow and enjoyable to read.
