Product Description

Review

"One of the things I have really enjoyed about AVA's books is the selection of images and the various types of paper employed. Not only do your books house valuable content, the content is presented well with great photography - the angle shots, close-uos, etc. I currently use AVA's Basics Design: Format and Print and Finish for my two senior production courses. The heavy use of images with tight definitions and commentary appeal to the students and the type of examples selected by the authors inspire stronger design solutions." Elsi Vassdal Ellis, Western Washington University, USA.

whether you're leaving art college and want to know all the gen on printing for your first job, or if you run your own design business and dread the printers coming up with language you don't understand, or if you're just passionate about design and print and want to produce the best work you can - buy this book. it's informative, straightforward and has lots of examples so it's a bit of an eye candy book too. great value for money.

I have five of the books in this series and love them all. They have the perfect combination of tutorial stuff and real world examples. Inspiring reading, and very well produced.

This book is a great intro to print, it's very easy to read and is a good book for new designers and students. Being a working Graphic Designer for 6 years, I would have liked the book to delve into more depth on certain topics and be more advanced. However, I have enjoyed reading this book and have also learnt a thing or two from it. From the title name, I should have guessed it was more of an 'overview' on print. So excellent for students/new designers but maybe a little too basic for experience designers. If anyone know of and can recommend any 'advanced print and finish' book that would be great.
