I wanted just to thank Amazon for its service. The book arrived much earlier before the predicted time,astonishing me for its unpredictable arrival. As about the book, the text is very well written and very understandable, associated with great pictures which help you easily memorize the content.
One of the better immunology books out there, but above what a medical student would NEED to know

At first glance at the title and the size of the book, I thought this book would not include much of the material that I need for PBL/lecture notes. However, this book has much more than it looks. The chapters are very similar to the different lecture topics and spread in a very logical fashion, such that one could read from cover to cover. With abundance of diagrams and tables, it allows many different types of learners to absorb the abstract ideas of immunology. One issue/problem about this book is that although the book is `basic', there are a lot of material that goes above the typical medical school curriculum, so I won't recommend this book as a `crash course' book, but more as a textbook to learn and elaborate your notes from.

Good but leaves out a lot.

This is a concise version of the full "Cellular and Molecular Immunology" by the same author. I read this book cover to cover as a MS-1. Now a MS-2 preparing for step1, I feel that, while the pictures are good and you can go through it very quickly (just over 200 pages),the book leaves out a lot of important information that are essential in understanding the mechanisms of immune responses and their application to specific diseases. After I finish a chapter, I often feel I just get fed hard, general facts without understanding the "WHY".
In comparison, the full book this book is based on, the "Cellular and Molecular Immunology," though much bigger (~600 pages), it offers much clearer explanation of how and why an immune response work a certain way. In the end I got a lot more out of the bigger book than this one. If I had a second chance, I'd spend more time and about 10 bucks more and just get the bigger book the first time around.

This book is excellent for getting the "big picture" when it comes to learning immunology. It has great illustrations with concise explanations to boot. I would recommend this to anyone learning immunology for the first time and as a supplemental text for anyone in the medical sciences.

This book is only 12 chapters with the first one being an absolutely confusing overview of the entire book. What I've come to find about the book is that you can skip all the words and read the pictures if you really wanted. There are pictures on almost every page and it is almost as if the text supplements the pictures. Overall pretty easy to understand and gives a good basic overview of immunology.
