C&G 2330 22 Mar 2009
Format:Paperback
Basic Electrical work by Trevor Linsley

Trevor is a well respected writer of text books for students studying in the electrical industry, his latest book is ideal for students on the C&G 2330 level 2 & 3 and taking their NVQ.

The book is laid out in the same pattern as the course and is split into 4 units with each unit being colour coded on the spine for easy reference; at the end of each unit there are written test questions to check that learning has taken place.

The way that the book is written and laid out is very pleasing to the eye and contains excellent pictures and graphics. The book contains useful appendices and a full set of definitions.

The book is written without using too muck technical Jargon and explains each topic and subject extremely well.

I already recommend this book to all of my own students as the number 1 choice for an electrical text book.

The book is well presented for the C & G Level 2 syllabus but equally useful for other Electrical Installation Courses,it contains good illustrations in full colour, and this fifth edition is fully compliant with the 17th Edition Wiring regulations BS 7671, I especially like the key facts, definitions (throughout the subject), safety tips and the end of chapter questions, I would highly recommend this book for all new apprentices and students.

After achieving 100% in my unit one C&G 2330 course I realized I had a great book!

The book is laid out exactly as the course is (four units with outcomes in each). If you are considering starting 2330 then this is the best prep you could have. Of-course I had great tutors who made sense of the more technical stuff like parallel circuits and power factors! However, there are many examples and questions for each unit to get you on the straight.

In addition to this book I would suggest the Amicus guide (The Electrician's Guide to Good Electrical Practice) or Onsite Guide (IEE On-site Guide; BS 7671 : 2008 IEE Wiring Regulations 17th Edition) along with a notebook - that's all I had to get distinctions!

Highly recommended!
