Product Description

Exploring pencils, pastels, and charcoal in a variety of ways--including composition, line, tone, texture, and color--this guide provides many step-by-step photographs and finished drawings. The author demonstrates how easily artists can portray different effects, teaching how to look at nature and how to interpret subjects in personal and individual ways. Whatever their skill level, artists will be able to develop their own style with this informative, richly-illustrated book.

Richard Box does what all budding artists need. He "teaches" you how to draw. He uses immaginitive techniques to instruct beginners in the type of techniques needed to begin drawing. He teaches the skills of drawing in simple step by step processes. Nothing is left to chance and you are left feeling that nothing is too difficult for you to try.
The techniques and method of learning are practically foolproof.
Thoroughly recommended.

I bought this from the author himself on one of his courses and I wouldn't part with it ever. The book explains things simply, assumes nothing and truly does inspire confidence. If you are lucky enough to go on one of Richard's course you'll see that when you read the book it's like listening to the man. I don't think anyone could fail if you follow his directions. Since doing his course I have gone on to an art and design course at college and a correspondence course in drawing. He made me feel that I really can draw. You can see Richard in action on You Tube demonstrating drawing and machine embroidery.
