This book is simply great for all of us who want to be great chefs, but struggle to fry an egg! It has a variety of great recipes - more than 100 - which are explained step by step in plain English. It explains basic techniques without using the jargon you find in many other books and nobody understands. It even explains how to boil a potato! I particularly like the risotto and paella recipes. Before buying this book, the only things I ever prepared either came out of a can or just had to be stuck in the micro wave. But since then I have impressed quite a few guests at home with the dishes I prepared using this book. Even my mum, who was a cook by profession! I strongly recommend it to anyone out there who has always wanted to try something out in the kitchen, but never had to courage to do so.
