On page 8 he shows how you would use a thickness planer, a jointer and a tablesaw to prepare the wood. Seeing as though I have none of this equipment my interest in "Basic Boxes" took a bit of a dive there.
Yes it is well described and has a lot of pictures but it becomes rapidly clear that the boxes he describes are definitely not basic boxes from a basic workshop.

This book is full of colour photos, tips and obviously showing how to make boxes. As a box maker I have many books about the subject but this is simply a brilliant, detailed book and better than many others. If you want to tackle box making then make this book your first purchase.

I am relatively new to woodworking when it comes to making boxes, but this book is loaded with some brilliant & different approaches to box making. Its that good i also bought the DVD that shows you in real time how its done.
