Having read some of the less positive reviews, as well as the positive, I sometimes wonder what people expect! One wants more recipes - I thought the object of ANY cook book is that it can be used as a guide to create a dish for your own personal taste! Another complains that the highest wattage combi oven the book caters for is 700. The book was first published in 1988, for goodness sake! In those days, it probably was the highest. Surely it is no effort to use a little imagination and adapt the times, cook for a shorter period and keep trying the dish until it is just right, then make a note for future reference. Do they want someone to do the cooking for them as well? As for myself, having purchased this book because I had never had a combi before, I found it very helpful and for the first two or three weeks, it was my microwave combi bible, the one coming with the machine being pretty useless, really. It does what is says on the cover, helps you start with the basics, after that, especially for those that love cooking but don't have much time, it's all up to your imagination and creative talent! I now use my combi for almost all my oven based cooking requirements. I say almost all because my oven is not very tall and sometimes extra height is needed, but that's another story. I have just purchased two more books as Christmas presents for friends who, as I was, are absolute combi beginners. Go for it!
