4.0 out of 5 stars Classic 1951 text still relevant today 5 July 2010
Format:Paperback
I was looking for a book to help develop new experimentation for undergraduates starting our new aerospace degree. I am a mechanical engineer working in the thermodynamics and fluid dynamics laboratory but no academic expert. I knew the name of Alan Pope as he helped me, through another of his books, design a wind tunnel many years ago. I liked his hands on approach in that book and I wasn't disappointed in this one either. It is very readable and written by a man drawing on his own experiences who should be passing them down to the younger generations.

4.0 out of 5 stars Recommended classic 21 Dec 2013

The book was delivered as advertised.
This is one of several books that were recommended for studying aerodynamics. This book appears to be useful in that regard but it may take me several years or more before I will have sufficient knowledge to really critique it.

5.0 out of 5 stars Wing/Airfoil theory 14 Dec 2012
By Joseph S. Johnson - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Paperback|Verified Purchase
This book covers more info than you may want to know. Much more math than you may want unless you are designing wings.
