Product Description

Review

School Library JournalBasher has created a portrait gallery of personified ... celestial bodies in a hyper-cute, pastel cartoon style reminiscent of Japanese artist Takashi Murakami's more extravagant flights. . . . Green's astro-narrative is both accurate and spiced with seldom-mentioned details, ... it could kindle (or in under motivated older readers, rekindle) interest in the topic. And it's fun! --This text refers to an out of print or unavailable edition of this title.

About the Author

Dan Green (author) edited Basher’s The Periodic Table and wrote Physics and Biology. He studied Geology at Cambridge University.

Artist and designer Basher has fun playing in the world of contemporary character design. Inspired by a love of simple line work and a rich colour palette, his characters fill the gap between edgy Manga and the cuteness of Hello Kitty!

My son loves this series - all the books are excellent and this one is no exception. What makes it so accessible is the combination of pictures and clear explanations of complex concepts that are memorable and engaging in a quirky and engaging style.

A must for all things astronomy enthusiasts.

I wish we'd had these books when we were growing up. My daughter uses it for reference and a quick flick tells her what she needs to know. My husband has read it cover to cover and now wants all the others in the series. Definitely recommended!

Great book to get kids interested. Kids can relate to the characters and like to draw them. THis helps them to remember the "boring stuff". The series is well worth having on a book shelf to entertain curious kids.
