Product Description

Product Description

U.S. Air Force Captain Scott O'Grady was shot down in his F-16 over Bosnia while helping to keep the peace. The plane exploded, and Captain O'Grady fell 5 miles to the ground below. In exciting detail, Captain O'Grady tells how he evaded capture and how, with little water and no food, he was able to survive on his own in enemy territory.

I purchased this book for my 11 year old son, who as part of his summer hoilday home work, he had to read a biography/auto biography. Benjamin reads above his level for his age so i deemed this book suitable.
He absolutley loved the booked and updated me chapter by chapter.

When searching for books for my son in the future i will start here, as the high street was not some where i could find this!!

Itought this book was a very good read. And it shows that if you have the will to live and be free it can do a lot for you in a hostile place. and i will read it over and over again. And how if you are in the airforce and you get shot down you will be rescued as soon as possible.

I am a veteran who's heart breaks when other servicemen are lost behind enemy lines. This books details the horror that Capt. O'Grady felt. The retrospective insights provided, allow the reader to understand that the warriors in combat are very human. The lessons of doing what is right, while not always easy, set excellent examples for children. I am donating my copy of this book to my children's school library. Hopefully, this true to life story will touch the hearts and minds of other children (and adults)as it has touched my family and me.
