1.0 out of 5 stars Not conducive to real study 21 April 2013
By Texas Teacher - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Paperback
I am taking the EC-12 PPR through an alternative certification program (ie no college courses on education).

First, the book is nearly unreadable for teachers taking the PPR for ec-12. The book breaks each competency into three bulky sections based on age (EC-6, 4-8, 8-12) rather than have all of the information for each competency in one section, separated by small headings. Such a small change would increase comprehension and readability for those people taking the test on the entire age spectrum.

Secondly, the information is very brief. It may be fine for teachers with an education degree whomayjust need to jog their memories, but for teachers who have gone through analternative certification program, this is not enough information. This brief bit of information is made worse by the fact that the theoriesofeducation get split amongst the age groups.

This is not a good review tool, and I'm just glad that I borrowed it from my local library.

Very short explanations, does not go in detail. Very easy practice tests not similar to state exam which is way harder!!!
