My 11 year old son, who has severe dyslexia, has found this dictionary easy to use having struggled with various other phonetic type dictionaries over the years - many of these work well for children with mild-moderate dyslexia but not for severe dyslexia. This dictionary has improved his confidence to try at working out the spelling and for the most part he is able to find the word as he spells it within the dictionary - because of this we have been able to show him that actually his spelling is not wrong as such, it's just that he spells as a dyslexic child. We would thoroughly reccomend this to others of all ages.

This dictionary is ideal for my son as he has dyslexia and tries to spell words as they sound, so he can look up how he has spelt it and on most occasions the correct spelling is next to it

The Barrington Stoke school dictionary allows children with specific spelling difficulties to use a dictionary just like anybody else. This dictionary lists words not only by their correct spellings but also by a variety of possible mispellings, where the correct spelling is listed next to the incorrect ones. The children I have introduced this dictionary to like it very much, and find it easy to use.

Fab find
