3.0 out of 5 stars all right 6 Dec 2011
By Furio
Format:Kindle Edition
First, a small editorial comment: please, do use the same pic of the kindle edition for the upcoming American paperback. The other one is quite bad.

This M/M romance has some very good qualities: it is fairly long, inexpensive (on kindle), well written. Characterization is accurate (side characters are especially good) and the plotting is well thought of even if some of the conflicts between the two leads seem a bit childish. The setting is also quite vivid, depicted in detail by someone who clearly knows what she is writing about.

There is a 'but' coming, of course. This was not a "I-couldn't-put-it-down" book. Robin and Dan's story interested me but only mildly. They are likeable, they ring fairly true but I could not relate to them. I am not sure whether this depends on their not being lifelike enough or on my inability to relate to English guys in their late twenties dealing with love (and boyfriends, money, alcohol, abuse and a lot of very real, everyday problems).

Sex scenes are many but plot related, well executed without being special.

All in all, for the price, give this a try and judge for yourself.

5.0 out of 5 stars LOVED IT !!! 8 Feb 2012

Meet Dan. A man who will admit that he is a self-confessed man slut. Meet Robin. A tattooed and pierced to the hilt man who has a very sketchy past. Dan is a writer sent to complete an assignment on a boating holiday. Robin just happens to be one of the boaters. Dan instantly falls in lust with Robin and his muscled tattooed body. Robin instantly makes it very clear that he thinks Dan is a hinderance and an annoyance.

By the end of the first Chapter you just know that Dan is going to be a handful. It is a little predictible knowing that as soon as you are first introduced to Robin, Dan will be in hot pursuit of him. I could not stop laughing at certain parts of the book. Why was I laughing? One word ... Dan. He is so flamboyant, so cheesy, so outspoken and a self-confessed man slut to boot.

Then we have Robin. The tall, dark and brooding boater who does everything in his power to avoid Dan at all costs. It isn't long, though, until Robin actually starts to warm towards Dan and we get to understand why he doesn't let just anyone in to his life.

Very entertaining book all the way through. I couldn't put it down. Even through the laughter and then the more serious aspect of Robin's history, it was a very enjoyable read. I would definitely recommend this book and also this Author. I will definitely be reading more from Josephine Myles.

1.0 out of 5 stars Disappointing 26 Jan 2012

I persevered with this book but had to give up half way through. The characters were stereotypical and the plot predictable. I did not find it at all erotic. The sex scenes - and there are very many, as the characters seem to think of little else - are neither subtle or erotic. The descriptions of these encounters are crude to the point of being vulgar. A cross between Mills and Boon and trashy gay porn about sums up this book for me.

Sorry to be so negative as the author is obviously not without literary ability. But this book simply did not work for me and couldnt recommend it.
