First, a small editorial comment: please, do use the same pic of the kindle edition for the upcoming American paperback. The other one is quite bad.
This M/M romance has some very good qualities: it is fairly long, inexpensive (on kindle), well written. Characterization is accurate (side characters are especially good) and the plotting is well thought of even if some of the conflicts between the two leads seem a bit childish. The setting is also quite vivid, depicted in detail by someone who clearly knows what she is writing about.
There is a 'but' coming, of course. This was not a "I-couldn't-put-it-down" book. Robin and Dan's story interested me but only mildly. They are likeable, they ring fairly true but I could not relate to them. I am not sure whether this depends on their not being lifelike enough or on my inability to relate to English guys in their late twenties dealing with love (and boyfriends, money, alcohol, abuse and a lot of very real, everyday problems).
Sex scenes are many but plot related, well executed without being special.
All in all, for the price, give this a try and judge for yourself.
