When I got this album I prepared for something OK. A third album similar to her first one (which wasn't that good). How wrong was I? This album is excellent! I just couldn't stop listening all Christmas!
The album kicks off with Barenaked (which is the title song), and just hooks you. The songs are all great- and they go with Jennifer Love's voice very well. The lyrics are cool, which adds to the whole thing. The combination of her voice, the lyrics and the music makes this album what is is- a masterpiece!
Barenaked is my absolute favourite song (she sings it SO well!!!), but I also like track 6. You Will, 7. Rock The Roll, and 11. Avenue Of The Stars. The only downside about the whole record is the last song, which is kind of dissapointing. Still it's such a great album, you hardly notice the last one!
Her first album was OK, and the second one was not the best in the world, but don't let this influence you! This, her third album, is a great album! One piece of advice: Buy this album!!!
Two thumbs up for Jennifer Love!!!

JLH has made a name for herself in various drama shows, most notably POF and TOYL, both based on the same character, and as a scream-queen in the "Last Summer"-series. Oh yeah, and she's easy on the eyes as well. These things are likely to have helped her in getting this album out. She has put out three albums before, the majority of the tracks being non-noteworthy pop love-songs. But on Bare Naked, she gets down to something quite decent. The album has it's weak spots, and overall is no master piece, but songs like the title track "Bare Naked", the funky rock-pop "Can I Go Now" and the funky, percussion-driven "Me and Bobby McGhee" (my personal favourite) show signs of a singer with definite abilities. The ad lib frasing at the end of the latter track is just brilliant. The album definitly has charm, and if you play on a sunny afternoon and close your eyes, you can almost see JLH turn those big, smiling eyes on you. And that's not bad...

BareNaked is the fourth album by singer/actress Jennifer Love Hewitt, released through Jive Records in 2002.

Yep - The busty one from I Know What You Did Last Summer and Ghost Whisperer. She was a singer before she found success as an actress. Most people don't know she has a back catalogue [Her earlier albums are Love Songs, Lets Go Bang and Jennifer Love Hewitt] or that she has recorded tracks for many [mainly direct to DVD] films. I read a review somewhere and they summed up her vastly-unheard-of music career nicely "She did pop before pop was cool".

The album was a big surprise to fans and critics as Jennifer ditched her pop roots and went in the soft rock direction. To give this new sound direction more credibility Meredith Brooks produced the album, wrote every song [apart from the cover of the Kris Kristofferson penned Janis Joplin classic Me and Bobby McGee and Jennifer's solo track 'Stronger']. Meredith also plays the acoustic guitar, electric guitar and performs on background vocals.

J-Love co-wrote an impressive eight out of twelve of the tracks [Barenaked, You, Hey Everybody, Where You Gonna Run To?, I Know You Will, Rock The Roll, Stronger and Avenue Of The Stars]. Simply put: I thinkn that Jennifer Love Hewitt is a better singer/song writer then she is an actress.

The albums tracks all have strong lyrics which aren't just random words that rhyme thrown together; Each song has a message that has meaning for almost anyone. There isn't one track that I skip over. When it comes to the actual music and production I'm not an expert: I know what I like, but am not great at describing all of the aspects.

Jennifer Love Hewitt isn't just another actress who decided to go into pop, she can really sing and this album shows that. The best songs on the album are Barenaked and First time but all the rest of the songs are still amazing. I wish she'd release a song in the UK and not only show the U.S she can sing but the UK as well.

I already knew that I loved the first 2 tracks, for me these alone were worth the price of the CD. Some of the others took a little while to grow on me, but grow on me they did!! I can honestly say there is only one track I'm so - so about, and that would be rock & roll, but even that I don't hate. Didn't even know Jennifer could sing and before all you nasty people out there say 'she can't', I say she certainly can!!

This album was more than I hoped from Jennifer, amazing vocal talent and a wide range of songs make this album a must buy for people who like rock/pop chick style music. Jennifer is the grown up Avril Lavigne and this album is pure class. Well worth buying. The cd has songs for all occasions and the fast numbers are great! Amazingly written. Highly recommended and I hope there is more to come.

This album is BRILLIANT, definitely Jennifer's best album. She's not just a BRILLIANT actress but an AMAZING singer also and she is better than all of the rubbish brought out today. Her singing is absolutely SUBLIME and is PERFECT for this type of music .This album is worth buying.
