Captain Eric "Kisser" Donaghue fighter pilot, who also moonlights as a fighter meets down on her luck showgirl Trish Monroe, when she struts her stuff as a ring girl. Eric scarred from crashing his F16 certainly looks intimidating add in his caveman attitude you would think that Trish might be put off. But both of these two fit together each fulfilling the others fantasies.

This has to be my favourite of the series so far. Eric really did it for me. He's a man mountain with a hard as nails body. Trish is one of my favourite heroines, she's beautiful feisty but with a good heart. The chemistry between these two was off the charts, the sex was way hotter than I've read for a long time. I don't want to say more and give it away. But this is a great read.

I've been in a reading slump the past several days. Read loads of books that ended up being mostly 3-star books, not bad but nothing really special about them for me, and didn't even feel moved enough to review them. And one was an MMA hero everyone is currently loving on but who ended up being a sad DNF for me; just nothing about that guy grabbed me and shook me up. And then I downloaded the Bare Knuckle sample yesterday, and I met Eric. He was like a roundhouse punch, and just one moment with this bruiser knocked me right out of that reading slump.

I loved this hero, hard. Eric's an F-16 pilot and a tough brute of a boxer, all masculine, thick and built, bare knuckling and pushing his way through life, one misstep at a time. Surly and closed off, he's not very good with words, and really, a caveman might be more eloquent, but man, did I love this guy. From page one, Eric grabbed me with those big, strong hands of his and didn't let go, not once. I loved every thing about him. Flawed but glorious, rugged and scarred, this is no pretty boy with pretty ways, just all man, rough and ready to go. So wicked sexy, and kinky, too.

Eric's a voyeur who even commemorates on film those special, erotic moments so that he can relive them, savoring the images later with a closed fist and an intense stare. Now, take a moment to picture that. Hot, hot, hot. And luckily for Eric, Trish's kink fits neatly into his own fetish; she's a showgirl who likes to be watched and gets off on the attention. In the bedroom, she performs, and he watches. The sexy photo shoot, the sex video, looking at the images together and getting off on that, some dirty talk, and some hard lovin'. It was all kinky good hotness. And just a heads-up, but Trish's ex girlfriend comes to play for the camera.

Alpha male, fighter pilot, mma fighter and amateur photographer all rolled into one hot man... what more could you want in a leading man? Eric is a pilot who fights on the side for some extra cash. He is a damaged man, then he meets Trish and they both agree to one night of passion. Neither of them were prepared for the connection they felt when they were together. While this is a super hot, erotic story, the characters are deep. The story will grip you and you won't want to put it down. This is the 5th book in the series and you do not need to read the others to enjoy this story, but I highly recommend that you do. All of the books in this series are fantastic. I love the writing of Katie Porter and the editing is top notch as well. I won't soon forget this story and I look forward to more from this author.

I received a copy of the book for an honest review.

HASH(0x94c84360) out of 5 stars Difficult to rate - wasn't what I thought it would be, but was enjoyable 17 Oct. 2013

Eric Donaghue is a fighter pilot. He's fairly messed up.
Just finally recovered from a major plane crash (he was the pilot) and is still experiencing trama (emotionally) from it.
His brother is back in rehab (third time) and Eric is participating in underground illegal fighting to pay for this rehab.
The sexy boxing ring-girl (the ones that hold up the box placards with the number of the boxing round) is Trish Monroe. Trish is drop-dead gorgeous. She has a very verbally abusive mother that only really loves Trish for her cash. Trish is busting her butt working a million jobs and attempting to finish her undergraduate degree.
Trish works as a ring- girl, looks for stage acting roles and is a vegas showgirl as well. The woman never sleeps. She works harder than any human being. Take rejection after rejection from agents, casting directors, etc. She keeps moving forward.

Eric is not as strong as Trish. yes, he lets himself get pummeled to pay for his brother's rehab. But Eric is hiding. Eric doesn't face his fears nor guilt.

Sounds like a basic love story. Two broken people fall in love and heal each other.
This story is different.
There is a lot of sex. Hot sex. Kinky sex. Voyeurism. Female on Female. No bondage. (yeah - there was a line drawn somewhere!).

The sex is written well. But there are A LOT of these scenes. And they went on for A LONG time.

The story was interesting. I like how the author incorporated all of Trish's costumes as ways that she protects herself from ever revealing her full true self. She doesn't like who she is - so she hides herself from people. Doesn't feel 'good enough' for who she is inside. (thanks mom...)
We see her lose a wig here or there, change clothes, forget the make up - as signs of her being able to be herself more and more around Eric.
Eric slowly confides in Trish. She doesn't judge him. She doesn't push him.

So you know that something bad MUST be around the corner. Things just seem way too perfect. They like each other. They bring out the best in each other. They have amazing hot torrid sex.

So when the other shoe finally falls - I was surprised at how nutty Trish gets.
I understand her frustration, her fears and her anger. But she goes a little overboard for me.
They haven't made any promises to each other. They are definitely headed that way, but they are still trying to get each other to open up more. No serious (text me when you get home) relationship was put other there.

The story does get past Trish's anger, etc. quickly. (thank you!)
The story has a nice epilogue that I love in books.

They get their HEA.
There is no cliffhanger.
The storyline moves at a nice pace. No major pits. No big misunderstandings.
Wow Nellie. There is a LOT of sex scenes in this book. Wowie.

I was interested in the characters. interested to see how the author was going to bring them together.
I found myself doing other things sometimes (chores, reading email, etc.) because the sex scenes seemed to drag on a bit for me.
But this book was interesting because the characters were seriously flawed, but not so painfully so that the book was super depressing.
The other characters were interesting, but didn't add a whole lot to the book. I am guessing that were other books written about them and the assumption is that we knew about it?
I thought the author did a great job drawing out the characters and showing their growth and love for each other (that first emanated from sexual chemistry).
I recommend this book!
Enjoy!

HASH(0x953e41bc) out of 5 stars Erotic romance with a sharp, kinky edge; I loved it 9 Oct. 2013

It was all kinky good hotness. And just a heads-up, but Trish's ex girlfriend comes to play for the camera. It's f/f, and Eric practically loses his kinky mind over that one. Every scene was exciting to me, even the girl on girl.

There are a lot of sexy times here, so if you're not looking for an erotic romance to burn your eyeballs and imprint dirty, kinky images onto your retinas, you might want to pass this one by. It's scorching hot and titillating. These two authors can write some amazingly well-detailed and erotic sex. It's raunchy and dirty but also smooth and sure. It just flowed, one scene topping the next, and sometimes all I could say was, dayum, let me read that again!

Along with the sex, there is also a romance worth reading about and a couple worth caring about. These are two characters with family drama, guilt, and trust issues. Eric and Trish are unsure how to share and how to let go. Flawed and a little afraid, they hide parts of themselves from the world, secret and hidden, but during sex, a lot is revealed, knowingly and unknowingly, and a relationship grows. And in the end, it all finishes off with a sweet feeling of love. The gorgeous showgirl hiding behind make-up and fake hair, the tough bruiser hiding behind scars and attitude: these two complemented each other and really worked for me. Their romance was gritty and hard, smooth and sweet, and I loved it all. A sure favorite of this series for me.

HASH(0x953e40c0) out of 5 stars No Holds Barred Read!!! 9 Oct. 2013
By Elizabeth - Published on Amazon.com

I enjoy Ms. Porter's writing style which is the no holds barred straight forward explicit romance without being a too sappy sweet romance. Don't get me wrong I was totally invested with both of these characters and was pulling for each of them throughout and was brought to tears a few times by the emotional anguish that both Eric and Trish were going through. I also enjoyed that I was able to catch up on a few characters from previous books in the series.

This is the 5th book in the Vegas Top Gun series. If you are a fan of the alpha male especially military men I would recommend this book. In my opinion you don't need to read the previous books in order to understand this one but if you are looking for a great series I would suggest picking this one up.

HASH(0x94c84948) out of 5 stars The best book of this series! This story will stay with me for a long time. 10 Oct. 2013
By starsaga - Published on Amazon.com

I loved reading this book and finished with a big old satisfied sigh. The kind where I knew I had a ring-seat to a romance and the buildup of a relationship that was quite unique. Yes, there are movies made on the love life of a showgirl, of a woman who is on the brink of poverty but has to gloss over all that to put on the best show possible, there are stories written about men who have to hide their true nature so deep because they lost something that gave them their uber-masculine image and therefore everything they thought that was attractive about them, but nothing is as good as the story of Trish and Eric. It was beautifully interwoven with the previous stories in this series, yet stood out completely for its believability and the fact that these two captured my attention and did not let go even once. Everything that happened from the some of the most erotic sex I have ever read, to the forces of family pulling these two apart, showed how well matched these two people were and that they did not just deserve each other but also a grand love. This was an exceptionally well written story that will stay with me for a long time, because although the characters entered the story as if on the edge of their own limitations, they ended up way more than that. It was beautiful to read and the best of this series of books. Kudos to Katie Porter for writing one of the richest romances I have read and for bringing their best in this last book of the series.
