Product Description

Book Description

224 page (soft cover) 1st Edition

Rawn Clark's practical commentaries for the student and reader of Franz Bardon's three books: "Initiation Into Hermetics", "The Practice of Magical Evocation" and "The Key to the True Quabbalah". Includes an opening section titled, "Introductory Material" in which is given a brief biography and a synopsis of all the books written by and about Franz Bardon. The book ends with an appendix titled, "Shielding".

From the Author

These commentaries represent the practical lessons that I have learned from personally pursuing Bardon's system of Hermetic self-initiation. They also reflect my years of participating in online Bardon-related discussion groups in which I have encountered just about every sort of question imaginable. ;-) Consequently, they were designed to be of practical help to the student of Bardon's system, as well as the passive reader of Bardon's three books.

This book is currently being translated into both French and German and will soon be published in these languages as well.

5.0 out of 5 stars A perfect companion, 8 July 2002
This review is from: A Bardon Companion: Commentary Upon Franz Bardon's Books (Paperback)
This book along with the other books from Franz Bardon have been invaluable to me.
Rawn really brings Franz Bardon's teachings into the light. He gives a very detailed explanation of some of the obscure things that Bardon says and expands on alot of the other writings.
Just like Bardon's books, A Bardon Companion can be read by both the practitioner and passive reader, giving valuable insights to all.
If you haven't heard of "Initiation into Hermetics" then I very much recommend that you get yourself a copy of it. Along with a copy of this book.
Books of this quality do not grace us very often. Break the wheel my dear friend.

Rawn Clark has been helping students of Bardon's path into Hermetics directly on the Net through the relevant Newsgroup. Thus he is fully aware of the kind of difficulties the neophyte goes through.

This book adresses most of these issues while at the same time sheding the light of modern thinking on Bardon's IIH (Initiation into Hermetics), considering it was written in the early part of the last century.

Highly useful book for practitioners and passive readers alike.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great help to Aspiring Bardonists!, 2 Jan 2007
By Frater J - Published on Amazon.com
This review is from: A Bardon Companion: Commentary Upon Franz Bardon's Books (Paperback)
The hermetics of Franz Bardon are of interest to some occultists. While different in many ways from Golden Dawn Hermetics (primarily in that the 1st book has no ceremony, and very little ritual), but is just as fastinating.

Bardon has some techniques and teachings that are less discussed than in other hermetic or occult works. This book helps both students new to the area, as well as those interested from other mystery schools to try and integrate Bardon's theory/practice to their own.

The book is an IDEAL companion to the Bardon book series. It will help those students who may be having a difficult time grasping some of the points in the book. I wish I had come across something like this when I started, as it probably would have helped me save a great deal of time. Be advised, while you can buy a hardcopy from the website you can also read most of it for free too, if you're looking to not spend money on it.

5.0 out of 5 stars A Superb Companion Guide, 23 Sep 2007
By Zen Druid - Published on Amazon.com
This review is from: A Bardon Companion: Commentary Upon Franz Bardon's Books (Paperback)
The is a very handy guide for anyone working their way through the exercises in Franz Bardon's books. Clark successfully address many questions that the beginning or advanced student may have and clears up some of Bardon's concepts that have become difficult to understand in the translation from the German language.

I highly suggest that you look at Rawn's website, where much of this material is available. You can also order a new copy his book there for a fraction of what it is being sold for elsewhere.

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent, 18 Jan 2009
By David - Published on Amazon.com
This review is from: A Bardon Companion: Commentary Upon Franz Bardon's Books (Paperback)
Straightforward, to-the-point, and practical, this book is excellent in providing context and background for Bardon's books as well as hints to clear up some common misunderstandings. If Bardon is the "father" of this system of Hermetics, Rawn is like a helpful older brother who nudges you in the right direction, though he's always careful about making sure that you know you have to do the necessary work yourself. Still, I've found it very helpful to have a "guidebook" to Bardon's tomes that speak in friendlier and less archaic language.

All of Rawn's works are available free online at abardoncompanion.com.
