Brilliant movie 27 Dec 2005
By s_l_clay VINE™ VOICE
Format:DVD
We gave our 4 1/2 yr-old daughter this new Barbie DVD for xmas. It's absolutely lovely and the whole family were equally hooked when we sat down to watch it! Our daughter has all the Barbie movies on DVD, and still agrees that "Princess & The Pauper" is the best, but "The Magic of Pegasus" comes a very close 2nd and would be joint-1st if it included songs.

The only drawback is the 3D version of the movie (the movie comes in 2 versions, 'normal' and '3D'). 4 pairs of 3D glasses are included with the DVD, but they don't seem to work very well. We're not sure whether it's the fault of the glasses or the actual movie. However, watching it in 'normal' viewing does not detract from the film at all. It's great - go out and buy it!

Vagnarian masterpiece 14 Aug 2009
Format:DVD
This is a CGI animated made-for-DVD movie featuring a Vagnarian theme. The heroine is a tall Teutonic blonde princess, who is fond of high leather boots. The animation is of high quality, although sometimes her legs do seem to walk rather stiffly.

The heroine's bloodline rule over a large kingdom. Their enemies include a camp man with an eye deformity, a bulky man with dark coloured skin, and a jeweller/pawnbroker with an odd-shaped nose. The heroine's sister has been corrupted by these enemies of the state, and together with her shorter, dark-haired, jackbooted boyfriend (whose right arm is also animated rather stiffly), they outwit their enemies, who are always depicted as having lower intelligence, in order to return her sister to her genetic purity.

So far I've only watched it about half way through. There's no sign of the kingdom being invaded by any Americans yet. Maybe some Russians will arrive first.

My three-year-old daughter loved it. Also recommended: Bugs Bunny "What's Opera, Doc?", "Herr Meets Hare"; Mel Brooks "The Producers"; BBC TV "Allo, Allo"

Soundtrack is available in English and German.
