King D is fine, found Julian too but frustrated w/ marketing 19 Nov 2004

I wish they were selling julian boxed the way King Dominick is. Instead, the only way to get Julian as a separate doll is to buy the Princess and the Pauper special Wedding set at Target -- that has the blonde julian doll. But you have to get the Anneliese and Kelly with it. It's also a Target exclusive--[...] I wish that Mattel had made Julian a separate doll, just like the other 3.

Tutor Julian is disguised as Prince Daniel from swan lake... 29 Nov 2004
By marlin - Published on Amazon.com
Durability:    Educational:    Fun:
Buy Prince Daniel from Swan Lake doll and dress him in Julians clothes that come with King Dominic. This will give you the exact doll that they show you on the back of the Princess and the Pauper Boxes.

The Daniel doll also comes with boots and a crown, which they do not give you 2 of in the Dominic box. I have no idea why they did not make there own Tutor Julian doll like they did Dominic, this makes no sense. What I did is took Julians clothes out of Dominics box dressed the other doll in the clothes and then stuck him in the same box as King Dominic and it turned out very nicely. My daughter will be happy to see all the Princess and the Pauper dolls under the Christmas tree!!

King Dominic and Julian are not the same person! 18 Nov 2004
By N. Orlando - Published on Amazon.com

I agree with all the reviews! How is my daughter supposed to play with Dominic and Julian at the same time? How can the 4 characters ride in the carriage or have a wedding together, if you only have one doll! I could understand if Dominic came with the costume of the servant he disguised himself as, in the movie. It is unfair that I now need to buy a Ken doll to wear the Julian costume. The company should offer a free Ken to whoever purchased King Dominic!

what was mattel thinking? 14 Nov 2004
By Sparkat - Published on Amazon.com

I also agree. I don't know what they were thinking when they made one doll for 2 characters with different colored hair. We ended up opening the box, taking out the "extra" outfit, and buying a regular Ken doll to put it on. The crown that was supposed to be the gift for the princess ended up being Julian's crown. We needed all four characters to go with a carriage set marketed to hold all four characters.

Can't be BOTH Dominick and Julian 11 Nov 2004
By cjzeffer - Published on Amazon.com
Verified Purchase Durability:    Educational:    Fun:
Anyone who has this movie knows that Julian has long blond hair - not short dark hair like Dominick. Besides, how can he be BOTH at the same time? What if they had a double wedding, or all four wanted to go for a ride in the carriage? NOPE - there are two girls, but one guy with 2 outfits. Impossible to play. My 4 yr old daughter pointed this out to me. :)
