Decent Likeness, nice doll 1 Jun. 2010
By Talvi - Published on Amazon.com
I wouldn't say this is a close likeness of the actress in the movie but it is a lovely doll nonetheless. The shirt is nicely stitched and does match the Star Trek movie costume. The Star Fleet badge is a separate plastic piece and not just a 'patch' or painted onto the shirt itself. The pattern of the "star fleet' logo on the dress is painted on rather than a texture - but it doesn't feel to cheap from being so. The undershirt is only a small piece and not a full shirt - it would have been nice for a pink label product to at least have a full undershirt underneath. Her boots are solid vinyl and not molded on, so they are removable, which is a nice touch. She wears small gold earrings and comes with a phaser that is nicely detailed.

In all, a highly recommended collector item that looks just as good outside of the box as in.
Nice for collection or play 4 Nov. 2013

I'm happy they released an Uhura doll, even if it is for the 2009 Star Trek movie.

They did not do a face mold of the actress, just a generic barbie face. I do agree the bent arm is a bit weird, limits what poses you can do with the doll.

Uniform is well done and I do like the boots. Phaser does not fit in her hand, I had to keep the plastic tie from the box to keep the phaser in her hand.

Overall, I was happy to add this to my collection!
She's beautiful! 6 Nov. 2013

I looked the country over to find one. This doll is very cool. The look on the little girl's face at receiving this for a birthday present was priceless. The four year old little girl said "She's beautiful!". Oh, I'm black and Uhura is one of the few positive black female iconic role models in doll form. The doll looks great and is well detailed quality in appearance. This was an expensive doll. Yeah it cost a little more, but she's worth it.
What a strange stance and limited mobility 16 Mar. 2014

Uhura's face more closely resembles the actress from the new series than does poor Spock's but this doll has more limited mobility. Her elbows and wrists are solid and one knee is permanently bent. Add that to the odd side-cocked right hip and she has a stance that is incredible odd and unnatural. Fine if you only want to display her but for playing with or using in a stop-motion animation she's going to be hard to work with.
Love this doll! 13 July 2013

I grew up watching Star Trek with my mom when I was like 4 yrs old so its very special to me. I loved the reboot of the movie and I love Zoe Saldana playing the part of Uhura. This doll is a fabulous reproduction of her.
