My daughter is nearly five, and has entered the Barbie age. This sequence of four stories are good as they can be either watched in sequence, making it a long entertainment also for grown ups, or separately, as there is a little summary of the previous movies at the beginning of each next one. The stories are simple, naive and very predictive, but suitable for the age-group three-to-ten-ish, and passes all the typical righteous messages, of good defeating bad (and the baddies are bad, but also funny - no violence), educational messages, etc, etc, in a colourful computer animation, with very pleasant graphics. It is at least six hours of watchable films, and definitely worth the money! My daughter's favourite is Mermaidia, she must have watched it at least five times only during the first couple of days after purchase!

My daughter is just over two and I bought this box set after searching and searching. We spent Christmas with my niece who is into Barbie and it must have rubbed off on my daughter. I decided to try this box set after getting tired of being subjected to Barbie In The Nutcracker over and over again. I did contemplate buying other DVD's but compared to this box set they were alot more expensive. I must say I am glad I took the chance my daughter loves all the DVDs. I alternate it with Something Special as she LOVES Mr Tumble, but all in all, would recommend it to anyone with a little girl!!!

As a dad, it is sometimes quite difficult to understand what your daughter really really wants, especially if you want to find something special to win the 'wow' and the sparkles in your beloved's eyes. What can be more impressive than this whole box set of pink Barbie DVD set!

It was a great buy and I am now the proud dad who is more popular than mummy in my household. I have also learnt so much from the Barbie psychology: Together we are stronger!

Sadly, the movies do have a certain level of discriminatroy components which I am not sure about in the light of current political idealism of diversity and equality. Anyone who is fat, ugly, deformed and do not speak well are 'baddies' in the Barbie world-hmmmm.... I am not so sure such belief should be cultivated in the young minds.

My wife just thought I think too much and instead should try to enjoy the movie and shut up!

Heyho, I never see so much pink purple and red in any movie series. I guess this would help me to understand the other sex a bit better. I have to say, it makes me miss my Star Wars, Indiana Jones, and The Lord of the Rings series!

Barbie Fairytopia
Some nice stories in principal, spoilt by the scary monster bits... little girls that love pretty fairies, prince and princesses don't always want the addition of scary monsters.

Not quite the Lord of The Rings
but a good introduction for small girls to fantasy-type films.

The opener, Fairytopia, takes us to a fairy world which is threatened by the evil Laverna. Read more
