I bought this for my 6 yr olds birthday as she is just learning to read in Yr 1. She loves that she can read a non-school book about something she loves.

My daughter picked this up at a school book fair with her own money. It will be "lost" (in the trash) the next time she asks about it. Too much drama--jealous friend ripping barbie's dress, fairy queen under a spell stealing Ken from Barbie then forcing him to propose to her, secret fairy stylists helping Barbie into the fairy world "Gloss Angeles" to steal Ken back. Gloss Angeles...really!!!
Its like a tween soap opera. Absolutely awful...I wish Amazon would let me give ZERO stars.

I agree with the two other reviewers who suggested 0 starts for this book. My 6-year-old daughter selected it herself at a book swap because she likes fairies. But, after reading it, she said that we should just get rid of it.

This is a complete waste and I returned it for credit. Amazon offers many beginner reading books that have actual plots and worthwhile characters. Skip this and the other Barbie selections.
