FromChildren's Software Revue®
Children discover eight fun but limited activities by clicking on objects at the Shelly Club tree house. At Mermaid Lagoon, for instance, they search for five objects hidden in a colourful water scene. In other activities, kids catch falling stars with matching colours and find lost baby animals by steering a boat through mazes. There are snowmen and unicorns to decorate and a flower-picking arcade game. The design is awkward for some activities. Testers had a hard time steering the boat through the maze, and clicks in the underwater scene were sometimes unresponsive. Most testers enjoyed the games and played all the way through, but their parents questioned how long they'd stick with the program over time. The graphics are beautiful and the music is pleasant. Increasing difficulty levels add some novelty for repeated play, but the program's superficial nature is a concern.
