During her 25 years in business, Barbara Pachter has had several career firsts, including: being the first woman photographer for one of the largest newspapers in the United States and delivering the first-ever seminar for businesswomen in Kuwait.
Photography taught Pachter to "see" and she has used that skill in business to help men and women present themselves more professionally in today's workplace. As a leading business etiquette and communications expert, she has given more than 1800 seminars throughout the world.
Pachter is also the author of eight widely-acclaimed books,including
"NewRules@Work: 79 Etiquette Tips, Tools and Techniques to Get Ahead and Stay Ahead," "When The Little Things Count...And They Always Count" and "The Power of Positive Confrontation." Her books have been translated into nine languages.
Her client list boasts many of today's most notable organizations, including Microsoft, Chrysler, Genentech, Citigroup Inc., Pfizer, Inc., Novo Nordisk, Verizon, Con Edison, and Cisco Systems.
She has appeared on numerous radio and television programs and her advice on business etiquette has been featured in dozens of newspapers and magazines, including ABC's 20/20, Weekend TODAY, The New York Times, CNN's Anderson Cooper Show, USA Today, O Magazine, The Washington Post, and Reader's Digest.
Pachter's etiquette seminars and coaching services were highlighted in TIME Magazine and her discussion on business etiquette appeared in the Harvard Business Review.
Pachter's areas of expertise include business etiquette, presentation skills, assertive communication, positive confrontation, women in the business world, business writing and career suggestions. She holds undergraduate and graduate degrees from the University of Michigan and completed postgraduate studies in the Middle East and at Temple University.
