This travel guide comes complete with an excellent map, but is small enough to put in your pocket to use as a reference as you travel around the island. The book contains some history for those that are keen to understand Barbados and its roots then covers the island in geographical sections. The map is very detailed and I'm sure will be helpful if I get lost!! There is also a section that covers background information on hotels and places to eat together with other information that will help you understand the island and its people.

The book is pretty good. It was the third publication and the newest volume but did find a discrepancy about beautiful Crane Beach. She states that "Crane Beach is overused by the timeshare above", and also stated the only way down to the beach is to pay. This is not the case. There is a road that runs down right to the beach and you climb over hugh bolders that have stepping pavers on top. Others obviously knew about the road since there were using it. This may be picky but I don't want other to miss this beach. All in all it's a good book.
