About the Author

After a degree in Latin American Studies Sarah Cameron has been travelling and writing on the Americas ever since, both as an economist and as an author for Footprint Handbooks. Initially moonlighting for the South American Handbook while working for a British bank, in 1990 she parted company with the world of finance and has been contributing to the expansion of Footprint titles ever since. Sarah still keeps her hand in with South America, collaborating with Ben Box on the South American Handbook, the Peru Handbook and Cuzco & the Inca Heartlands, but concentrates mainly on the Caribbean. She is the author of all 17 editions of Footprint Caribbean Islands, as well as individual island titles such as the Cuba Handbook, the Dominican Republic, Barbados, St Lucia and Antigua & the Leeward Islands. When Sarah is not travelling around the Caribbean sampling beaches and rum cocktails, she retreats to her 17th-century farmhouse in rural Suffolk, UK. --This text refers to an alternate Paperback edition.

As it was purchased as a gift for a friend l can only express what l think they would have thought of it. It seemed quite comprehensive for a small compact guide and personally l would have been pleased with it

4.0 out of 5 stars Compact but helpful 6 Feb 2014

I was expecting a full size guide book but this is a small 4x8 87 page "booklet." Good information but a bit pricey for the size. However, there aren't too many books on Barbados so it's been helpful with good information included.

2.0 out of 5 stars Boring 2 Jan 2014

I sent this book back right away. It was pretty boring. Only skimmed a few pages. Not a great book if you are trying to decide on vacationing here. More of a cut and dry info only book.
