Samantha Morton shines in this drama series about the lives of 5 prostitutes. Series one has been available on VHS and DVD but the far superior and much more shocking series two was never released. Definitely worth watching especially the second series but watching from one to three is well worth the effort.

This set contains all 3 series and therefore is a little uneven. The first series is very good with a raw feel, good acting and earthy dialogue. The jewel in the crown however is the second series, Samantha Morton's performance is staggeringly good with excellent support from the rest of the cast. The story is well written and gritty with few real failings. It has to be said though that Series 3 is a disappointment; it has lost the rawness and edge that made the previous 2 series so good. Still well worth buying for series 1 & 2 though.

I have just finished watching series one and I was blown away..
My feelings regarding these woman were very sad to say the least..
I knew very little about their lives and their survival in a very tough and cruel world..
My heart ached for the children.. how many times have we ever given much thought to them..
it has really opened my mind to their lifestyle and the heartbreak it causes...
Also how many times are they condemned without us really knowing how difficult their lives are...
I am also wondering how much help is out there for the children and their mothers...
