About the Author

Cleo Rocos is the essential ingredient to any party that wants to go with a swing, and has spent a lifetime partying with the best of them, as a host of bon viveurs from Elizabeth Taylor and Princess Diana to Alan Carr and Gore Vidal could attest. Cleo’s life has always been something of a party. She was born in Rio de Janeiro to Greek and English parents. After a first job as a professional skateboarder, her career in television and comedy took off when she co-starred in The Kenny Everett Show on BBC1, starting in the 1980s – then the number one rated comedy series in the UK. It ran for eight years, immortalizing Everett’s infamously zany, anarchic and saucy comedy. Following her early work in the original Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy and as a roving reporter for That’s Life!, she has worked between the UK and the US for a range of broadcasters including the BBC, ITV, Channel Four, Channel Five and NBC, and co-starred with names ranging from Emma Thompson and Rhys Ifans to Roger Daltrey and Leigh Francis. In 2012, she launched her own brand of 100% agave tequila, AquaRiva, which has already won international awards. Cleo Rocos lives in London with her parrot, Max. --This text refers to the Paperback edition.

I, too, could not put this book down until I had read it right through. It is a tale of Miss Rocos' life from the age of fifteen when she first met Kenny Everett, through to their sad goodbyes when AIDS finally claimed his life, but not his soul. The book is as good as a film, with Miss Rocos' cheeky memories of her hilarious pranks at school and wild adventures with Kenny on their party nights out, as well as her solo venture across the pond in America filling out the beginning and middle of the book. The intimate moments in which Miss Rocos touchingly acknowledges the end of her journey with Kenny make up the last third of the book, allowing us access to very deep and private emotions so rarely found in people today. I cried at the end, and if you loved Kenny, Cleo and their bananas, you will too. Simply Faaabuloussss darlings!

"Bananas Forever" is one of those rare cases where a multi-faceted and previously unrecognised literary talent is revealed for the first time. Ms. Rocos is a gifted and insightful writer, eloquently relaying to the reader a sense of the heady times during which British TV comedy was at its pioneering best. This book is a must-read for those who -like me - believe that comic genius is today a term too loosely thrown at the public. Ms. Rocos guides us - with sensitivity and intelligence - through a movingly profound friendship set against a professional background of comic creativity that to this day remains unrivalled in eyes of many. This is a great book and we hope to hear more from Ms. Rocos in the near future.

A fantastic book, extremely well written, and as a Kenny fan, just as when Spike Milligan died, I felt robbed of a great humourist. The narrative had me in tears on the last few pages. What more can I say? J.J.

Utterly bonkers. Cleo Rocos can also write! Not just the pretty...um...face from the Kenny Everett television shows, she's also a funny and engaging author.

This is the story of the close relationship Cleo and Kenny shared until his untimely death from AIDS. Written with love, it's not an Everett biography as such. Just a lovingly told story of two oddball personalities and how they meshed so perfectly.

Ms Rocks writes in a lovely relaxed style. Her book is a delight to read , she obviously had a very close and deeply loving relationship with Kenny and she writes about this with deep affection, but with humour and warmth..She is a fine story teller and I'm sure could write a wonderful novel. I loved it!
