Twenty-Five years ago, Des O'Connor told me he was writing an autobiograpy. I have been anticipating its publication all this time. The book is well worth the wait! It is a wonderfully entertaining account of the life and times of the man I consider, next to Al Jolson, the world's greatest entertainer. Des' account of his life and experiences with other show business personalities makes for an extremely entertaining read. I was unable to put the book down and read it in one sitting. I also bought the audio book which is read by Des himself. Des' reading of the book further added to the pleasure.

Highly recommended. Hopefully, through this book, other Americans, like me, will discover this truly great entertainer.

Des O'Connor has led an enthusiastic and inspiring life and "Bananas Can't Fly" brilliantly tells his story!
This book is an exciting insight to a truly international talent who has lived some incredible highs, some devastating lows, and through it all has maintained a positive attitude and solid set of beliefs that have allowed him to always move forward.
The reader will laugh, occasionally cry, and often find familiarity with this man's circumstances and choices.
Through an open and honest depiction of an extraordinary life Des O'Connor has once again topped the charts!
