This is a well-researched and detailed account of the 11th Battalion's contribution to the British Army in W.W.1, particularly its participation on the first day of "The Somme" on 1st July, 1916 when most of the men saw action for the first time and the battalion suffered horrendous casualties [see also Martin Middlebrook's book, "The First Day of the Somme".

The 'Skins' from Donegal 18 Jan 2001
By William Mullan - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Hardcover
This book gives you the history of the 11th Bn of The Royal Inniskilling Fusiliers. The 11th Bn. enlisted in Co. Donegal, Ireland during the First World War. This book is a great source of information about people from Donegal who fought and died in WW1, he highlights people who have won military medals. The 11th Bn where formed from the Ulster Volunteer Force in Donegal, they trained in Finner Camp near Ballyshannon. I recommend this book to people who are interest in Irish Military History.
