Product Description

Nine months ago, I served my own personal brand of punishment on those
that kept their silence when I was raped.

Nine months ago, I was the voice that found justice for a beautiful young life, viciously slain in her prime many years ago, and helped her grieving mother to finally find peace.

Nine months ago, I saw this rapist/killer escorted to jail in handcuffs and now, I reign from his old throne.

Nine months ago, my horrid nightmares were finally quieted after eviscerating the snake’s body and crushing its evil head.

Two weeks before the trial of Olin Kemper was scheduled to begin, the dreams came back. Haunting, disturbing dreams that I can’t escape nor understand.

A week ago, I realized that I didn’t kill the snake; I just wounded it.

And it’s back with a vengeance and after us all.

I was very impressed with this young authors first book Accountable to None, and didn't think it could get better. Well I was proven wrong Zero Balance is even better, I would be surprised if Ashley Fontainne is not winning major awards before long, and I am looking forward continuing this story in her next book Adjusting Journal Entries.

After reading Accountable to None for an honest review at the request of the author, I instantly became a fan. I learned there was to be a sequel and I couldn't wait to read it. I enjoyed the first book so much that I honestly didn't think I would enjoy the second as much, I thought "How can she beat that?" ... but oh man was I wrong.

Zero Balance is a lot darker, longer and in depth. A thrill ride with twists and turns that keep you glued to the pages and constantly wanting more. This is a must read for anyone! Yes, I did say ANYONE! Ashley Fontainne sucks you into her world, has you on tenterhooks through the whole novel and teaches you just what can happen when you are hellbent on revenge!

Fan for life! 2 Feb 2012

WOW!!!!! I didnt think it was possible for a sequel to be as good as or better than the first, but you proved me wrong!!! What a great story with lots of twists and turns. I couldn't put it down, but then again I couldn't put down Accountable to None either. The descriptions and details in the book was like watching a movie instead of reading a book. Definite fan for life! Can't wait to see what you have in store next!!!

Longer...Deeper... and Definitely Darker! 2 Feb 2012

"Zero" Scores Big 21 April 2012
By The Kindle Book Review - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Kindle Edition
If you like the TV series Dexter, you'll like--nay, love--"Zero Balance" by Ashley Fontainne. The author writes with blessed ease and a refreshing lack of apology about what I'm tempted to call the dark side but which is really more the inner workings of the human soul. According to Fontainne, this is precarious place to explore . . . and you believe her. Every element--every word, really--takes the reader further and further into the book's spell. (There is a pet cat named Purr Baby. Such perfection!) If a black widow spider could write a book, this might be the result. Fontainne is a fearless writer, and she goes so far out on a limb that her dense writing style never becomes excessive. She is fully entitled to every last adjective and simile.

The book switches its focus from one character to another, yet the world the book inhabits remains consistent--not an easy feat. And the inner machinations of each character are so vivid and raw that the author makes Poe seem like Mother Goose. Should murder cross the mind of a character, you may find yourself thinking, "Well, why not?" We've been taken on such a deep journey into the self that we've left behind conventional morality light years ago. Fontainne knows that the most toxic weapon of all is the human condition.
