Bakugan: Battle Brawlers is a cartoon adaptation of the popular strategy game created by Sega Toys and Spin Master. Dan Kuso and his five on-line friends started playing Bakugan when game cards inexplicably fell from the sky. Using combinations of cards and special marbles that turn into monsters, they fight duels and win points. Dan loudly proclaims he's going to become the all-time champion. He and his friends learn that Bakugan monsters have lives in the dimension of Vestroia. But the mysterious gamer Masquerade is destroying the monsters he defeats by sending them to the Doom Dimension. Battle Brawlers plays like a cross between Yu-Gi-Oh! and Pokémon. With his spiky hair, fingerless gloves and goggles, Dan looks like numerous other shonen (boys) anime heroes, he's nicer than Yugi, but he lacks Ash's good heart. --Charles Solomon

I bought this for my 6 year old son for Christmas along with some bakugan brawlers. It was the 1st time he had had Bakugan as he had not seen the tv programme, just spoken to a friend of his who had previously been given some brawlers. My son is now addicted! The dvd has barely been off the tv during the holidays, and he is already planning to spend his xmas vouchers on more brawlers. Excellent entertainment value, and definitely fuels their imagination for their own bakugan battles. Be warned though - it could cost you more on other dvd's and toys....

The dvd is aimed in my opinion at children & is appropiate for ages 6yrs & up. I bought it for my great nephew aged 7yrs.
I would not reccomend it for younger children simply because it basically consists of battles/fights.
There is a whole series of toys & games in the Bakugan range..they can be a little expensive, the dvd is however is cheap & good value.
My nephew tried to educate me about Bakugan dvd...games/strategy/figures..I found it all rather complex & confusing which, he promptly assured me was simply because I am old..lol

If I was to attempt to describe the fighting in the dvd ..I would liken to a modern day version of gladiators or wrestling.

My son loved this DVD and gave him added interest to his own battle brawlers.
