My son at 8, who has ADHD, has a tallent for numbers. Playing bakugan has made him relaxe in is otherwise troublesom day. This toy with the many things you can build and put together was just wounderfull. It's strong material and otherwise ease of use has just made his day.

This nearly ruined a Christmas (2010) because of two fakes from separate sources were purchased. Look out for sellers using selling at very reduced prices to the market value. The box should be of a sturdy construction and when viewed from above of a six sided elongated hexagon. The box should have an 'Open Here' flap with details of the figures once opened and also carry Mega Toy and Spin Master logos. On the rear should have references to European legislation as well as Spin Master Ltd and a bar code. The contents have a poor construction, paint finish and figures do not have a serial code on them.
Once we obtained a genuine item, the toy is fiddled/played with a lot however one of the feet on Grakas Hound broke off. The rest of the figures' components seemed durable and popped open well on their gate cards and closed up with solid clicks. Building in to the combined Maxus character was fairly easy and intuitive for an eight year old.
Although expensive, I'd rate it value for money due to the rarity of characters and compared to the individual cost of other Bakugan.

It is very small - even the person it was bought for thought it would be bigger, but, it is what he wanted and although expensive for what you get it was his choice! He is very pleased with it even if we continue to laugh/cry at the price!
