Though it may look and feel like a plastic or rubber, silicone actually has more in common with glass - the backbone of the compound is silica, or sand, with other stuff added in. According to the precise mix of that other stuff, the final product can be a liquid, a gel or a solid. Whichever, it is a totally inert compound, and so will not 'react' in any way with your food.
Silicone bakeware is oven proof, microwave safe, freezer proof and dishwasher safe. Silicone baking moulds can be transferred directly from freezer to oven or microwave.
Food grade silicone bakeware will not rust, crack, melt, dent, peel or warp.
Silicone baking equipment is non-porous so it will not retain flavours or odours to taint your next dish.

I must say, this looked a lot flimsier in the packaging than it does on the job.
I have used this mat about 5 times now and have got no complaints so far. It doesn't stick and it is easily cleaned - that's all I need from a baking sheet!

My mother in law got me in to these silicone cooking trays tins mats etc. They are great for baking, making lasagne etc so i thought I'd get this mat for lining the tray in the bottom of my oven. I'm already familiar with the concept of silicone bakeware and the max temperatures you can use them at etc so I was quite surprised when I went to remove it from the oven tray and it had perished. I ended up throwing it away - useless!
I think it was a bit thin - my other silicone bakeware is quite solid and this mat was about the thickness of a piece of paper!! Anyway, maybe you'll have more luck with it than me but my advice for this particular one - steer clear...!! :) happy baking

These baking sheets are great, much cheaper than buying new trays all the time because you cant get stubborn marks off them.Big in size but easy to store too. Only downside is I didnt get to choose the colour, I had to take what the company sent me, but I will still by more.

Useful product.
Excellent product. Shame it did not arrive before Xmas and I could not select a colour so ended up with pink (for a boy...). Really useful though.

Silicon Baking Mat
As described - they work really well, an improvement on baking parchment. No-one who enjoys cooking should be without them. Cut them to size to fit your baking sheets/tins.
