One thing that isn't clear from the description of this book, and the lack of a back cover picture, is that it is endorsed by none other than Jon Pertwee, BBC TV's Dr. Who. This adds authenticity and authority to the product - although it has led to lengthy discussions amongst Dr. Who fans about whether this forms part of the Dr. Who "canon". It is now known universally as The Jon Pertwee Recipe book.
Many Dr Who fans recite the words assigned to Pertwee on the back cover daily whilst looking at THAT picture of Jo Grant and a Dalek, hand on heart and a tear in their eye.
"MEN MAY GO SHOOTING OFF TO OUTER SPACE BUT IT'S REALLY THEIR INNER SPACE THAT MATTERS MOST. I'M SURE I'M NOT THE ONLY ONE WHO LIKES TO BE ADVENTUROUS AT MEALTIMES. WHEN THE MEAL I'M EATING IS HOME COOKED, BUT DOESN'T COST THE EARTH, THEN I KNOW I'M GETTING THE BEST OF ALL WORLDS."

I've bought countless books that tell me how to bake my cake, and like most people I own a couple of guides on 'how to eat cake'. But it's tremendously useful to have the two combined in one handy volume. This is a work that explain BOTH how to bake your cake AND how to eat it. Five stars.
