I learned so much from this book! I used to be a regular home bread-baker in the '80s so I thought I was pretty clued-up - however this book opens new doors. It demystifies sourdough, shares inventive recipes, gives wheat-free alternatives and (if that is not enough!) explains the Steiner approach to education. The book weaves in inspirational messages about how children learn: through imitation and their imagination. Infused with stories, poems and beautifully illustrated, this book will be one the kids love too. The author's kind tone - like a warm and helpful parent - is present throughout. If you are are child-friendly, into healthy food, and (want to or) enjoy baking - this is a winner.

I have tried out a number of these recipes with my children, and it's a complete joy. My children love to cook with me, and making our own bread is such a great time to cook together. I recommend this book to anyone who wants to spend quality time with their children, make delicious and healthy bread and save a bit of cash!!!!

As a grandmother now in my 60's, I still hold dear the memories I have of spending time with my mother and grandmother as they involved me in their work of baking for our family.
