The *Other* Blind Blake.
A criminally overlooked player in the Bahamian music scene.
This is a collection of nearly all of Blake's recorded output and includes all his most famous tunes, his version of "Sloop John B" is worth the price of admission alone.
This is quirky, early calypso-tinged folk from the 1950s that goes down as smooth as a rum punch.

I lived in the Bahamas as a child and once saw Blind Blake perform. Had most of his music on 45 rpm vinyl records, but it was great to be able to get his recordings on a CD. This collection contains all of his most popular songs and is a wonderful example of Bahamian calypso music.

Be advised. This is not Blind Blake of Blues fame, but the man of the same name who used to greet passengers with a cheery calypso as they landed at Nassau in the 1950s. So I suppose if you want to feel depressed, buy it.
