Like Going to New Orleans for Mardi Gras 25 Jun 2001

Format:Audio CD
Forget making the trip to NOLA . . . this Virginia band gives you the trip without the Pat O'Briens hangover. Be sure to take a good listen to Andy Kochenour on the tuba.
Big and Bouncy 9 Aug 2008
By H. Shimmin - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Audio CD|Amazon Verified Purchase
This set is as much fun as Dr. John's best. Like Mr. Rebennack's "Goin' Back to New Orleans", the Dixie Power Trio and New Line Brass Band include traditional vocal pieces like "Careless Love" and also take off with jazz instrumentals in the idiom. The playing is imaginative and hot, smart ensemble work, exceptional trumpet solos, all anchored by Andy Kochenour's tuba - an exciting reminder of the joy that comes from discovering musicians carrying life and a shining light into your corner.
