• The second volume of this 1950s west coast blues great’s recordings completes the Roy Hawkins’ original Modern, RPM and Kent sides on CD.

• Features tracks from his first recording session in 1948 and continues right up to final session in 1961.

• As well as many previously unissued and unreissued master takes, this set also contains never before heard, alternate takes of some of Hawkins’ best-known Modern classics, including his original version of ‘The Thrill Is Gone’.

• A phenomenally important and influential blues figure in his day – albeit one who remains remarkably obscure from a biographical viewpoint – Hawkins is a perennial favourite of connoisseurs of cool California blues. This is a very welcome and long-awaited follow-up volume to CDCHD 754.
