Review
'The perfect holiday read: sexy, satirical, funny, light as air' The Scotsman

Product Description
Anna’s boyfriend Seb is impossibly handsome, impossibly rich and generally just impossible. When eventually he dumps her, she vows to give up men and throw herself into her career. Which is how she ends up working for Cassandra. The social climber from hell, Cassandra has a huge house in Kensington, a philandering rock star husband and the spawn of Satan for a son. So when desperate-to-escape Anna meets dashing Jamie, charming heir to a castle in Scotland, she can’t believe her luck. And she probably shouldn’t...

1.0 out of 5 stars Elongated synopsis, 1 Jul 2007
This book is purely an elongated synopsis. It glosses over relationships. for instance, Anna met Jamie, the nexst minute they are engaged without us being told anything in depth whatever. There is some humour, good humour and I did struggle to finish the book, but the whole thing gave me the impression that the author was trying to finish this book in the shortest possible time getting away with as little information as possible. Give me Jilly Cooper and Fiona Walker anyday, now they can write, they are authors!

1.0 out of 5 stars Not worth reading, 18 Mar 2008
This was the first Wendy Holden book that I read, and the last. I skipped huge chunks of this book just to get to the end. I read a lot of books and this is probably the worst one I have read. Not a patch on Fiona Walker!

5.0 out of 5 stars Wendy's best book, one of my favourites, 11 Mar 2009

Absolutely loved this book it was hilarious, can't believe it got a bad review on here!!!
Cassandra is a fab character, hysterical and made the book shine. Her husband Jett had me in stitches and her son Zak made me want to scream, loved reading about them and their treatment of poor Anna, who was very likeable if a bit meek and naive.
Please please read this book.
I admit the engagement to Jamie was a bit fast and meaningess but I think the author wanted to convey that Anna's self-esteem was so low she'd have married anyone at any time.
I have read this over and over, and I'm a reader that hates to be bored!!!
