Book Description

"Hard Drive"Mack Stone can't believe he's just walked in on the delicious Kindra Hill having an online affair in her office. Being discovered in flagrante computer delicto doesn't seem to bother Kindra. In fact, she claims to prefer the impersonal touch to the complication of a relationship. That's enough to make Mack issue a challenge of his own: He wants Kindra to grant him twelve nonstop hours to turn every erotic e-mail into a hot reality and prove that in love and pleasure, there's no substitute for the real thing...

3.0 out of 5 stars Funny and enjoyable 24 Nov 2010

I'll review each story separately.....

Hard Drive I liked the best of the three. I thought the set up worked well and didn't feel like McCarthy was pigeon holing Mack or Kindra into a stereotype to fit the needs of the story. If at times I was hard pressed to remember Kindra's inexperience in reality wasn't a put-on to make Mack sweat, I ignored it in favor of Mack's reaction at the end.

User Friendly, aside from the fact that Evan is my idea of an ideal mate, this story didn't interest me overmuch. Halley was a bit much for me and I felt like Evan really could have done better. Neurotic is perhaps the word I would use for Halley, though from all the caterers I've met in the past that seems to be a requirement.

Press Any Key, worked for me. I liked Candy, despite her very ridiculous name (Jared's right, it does sound like she should have been a porn star) and I liked the fact that Jared was somewhat dense when it came to her flirting with him.

All in all they were 3 pretty decent stories, and if I understood the back cover rightly this was back when McCarthy was still fairly new to the publishing scene

5.0 out of 5 stars This Debut Novel Made It To My Keeper Shelf!!! 12 Oct 2003
By Kristi Ahlers - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Paperback
Not only does Ms. McCarthy have a great sense of humor she manages to mix it with hot steamy chemistry and romance. Not an easy mix.

My favorite of the anthology is "Hard Drive." In this story Kindra is caught having a cyber love affair by the one guy she is willing to get hot and steamy with! Mack can't believe that Kindra would rather have an impersonal affair instead of a live and in person one. So he challenges her to 12 hours of unbridled sex. Kindra accepts his challange but the fun of the whole story is that they find more then buring hot chemistry, they find each other.

"User Friendly" was a sweet romance between best friends. Halley has it bad for her best friend and would rather keep his friendship then screw it up with sex. Evan has the same feelings regarding Halley. She stares in every erotic fantasy he has but again he is afraid that Halley would run screaming if he admited his feeling to her. Well, fate fixes there problem Evan's website has been hacked and has left cyber Halley without any cloths. Well, neither of them can avoid each other now and it's really only a matter of time before they each realize how the other is feeling.

"Press Any Key" is a fun co-workers story. Candy thinks Jared can't stand her and she is confused as to what she could have done to the G.Q. like man to have him be so upset. Jared on the other hand is tooooo attracted to the sweet Candy and keeps his distance in order to keep things professional. Again fate steps in in the form of their mutal boss. He decides what these two people need is a counseling session online to provide help in getting their working relationship off the ground. Boy it does more then that!!!

This was a fast paced read with 3 very entertaining stories. The chemistry is hot, and the laughs are plenty. I eagerly wait for Ms. McCarthy's next book!

4.0 out of 5 stars A hot read! Highly recommended 8 Oct 2003
By C. Penn - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Paperback
Technology and eroticism blend seamlessly in Erin McCarthy's BAD BOYS ONLINE resulting in an incredibly hot read. McCarthy displays a refreshing gift for capturing sensuality and exploiting possibility in these novellas, giving reason to keep an eye on this new author. While office antics might not be recommended in reality, but as fantasy material they are red hot!

In Hard Drive, Mack Stone surprises Kindra Hill while she reads a sexy email from her online lover. Surprised that his very proper coworker would enjoy such naughtiness, Mack persuades Kindra to give him twelve hours to prove that the pleasures of reality supercede what her cyber-lover offers.

In Press Any Key, a previous disastrous office encounter burned Jared Kincaid on the possibility of dating a coworker. Unfortunately, his boss is determined that Jared and Candy Appleton work out their differences using three hour online counseling service. They cannot leave the boss' office without the certificate of completion.

In User Friendly, someone hacks Halley's website, replacing her professional photo with an explicit one. With her catering business on the line, she appeals to long time friend and web master Evan to fix the site. Soon their passion of an entirely different sort replaces their plots of revenge.

5.0 out of 5 stars Whew, very hot. 18 Sep 2003
By Adrienne A Fowler - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Paperback
Bad Boys Online is far and away the steamiest book I've read this year. Okay, it is maybe the hottest I've ever owned. Ms. McCarthy places believable contemporary characters in unbelievable situations. And then the fun begins. Her humor softens the erotica, and somehow makes it all the more sincere. I'd recommend this to anyone needing to shake things up a bit in the bedroom. A fantastic vacation-read.
