Was kind of expecting a bit more of action flick when I picked this up...the premise was good, acting was great from Sean Bean as always, but I just couldn't get on with the film and found myself looking at the clock a lot to see how long was left. If your expecting an action film don't bother. If your expecting some sort of drama with toilet Texas accents and an annoying 12 year old whos good at chess and screaming, then this film is for you.

Cast and description made it look like another poor British movie, although this one set in US (Most seem like poor copies of Lock Stock over last few years, with some ham acting thrown in). However it is not and was very good, I wont say anything about plot so I dont spoil it but well acted by all the cast and recommended.

Hannah Lee Baker (Abigail Breslin) is an orphan who lives with her meth head uncle Donny (Lew Temple) and flirty sister Amber (Alexa PenaVega). Meth manufacturing and dealing is the family business run by Uncle Frank (Sean Bean) a strip club owner. Hannah likes to play chess with Billy who was once state champion. She recites poetic metaphors about chess pieces and how they relate to her life.

Frank is the powerful King who has people in his way killed. Hannah forces her way into the business as a delivery person, but inadvertently cause problems between Frank and the biker customers when she cuts the meth with vitamin D. At some point in time, Hannah must choose between family and getting out.

The supporting cast was great. Abigail Breslin was not convincing in the lead role. The chess metaphor was a flop. The poetic readings were simply horrible.

A fair action/drama/thriller rental.

Parental Guide: F-bomb, nudity (Claire Frederiksen)

Bad Blood is a slow burn drama revolving around a rural small town criminal family , the Stinsons. With a young blonde haired actress taking the lead role as a school of hard knocks teen wise beyond her years it is in spirit reminiscent of Winters Bone. Bean and Purefoy pop up sporting plausible American accents. I liked Bean's performance as the girls uncle and family patriarch, oozing menace every time he appears on screen.

The family can only be dysfunctional with the other friendly uncle being a narcotic manufacturer while also using. Bean's sidekick played by Jake Busey is a nasty piece of work - a thug and rapist. Most of the script boxes in this type of drama are ticked - forbidden love, undercover cop, last minute shoot out but the saviour is the motivation of Abigail Breslin who plays the young Hanna being the glue holding the story together as she plots escape and revenge. This is a straight to video release from Anchor Bay - the blu ray picture quality is top class and the lossless soundtrack is excellent.

It all stems around a young girl that tries to be very clever and beat her uncle gangboss.

It wasn't great, story is ok but I think it could have had a better storyline tbh.

Don`t be fooled by the pictures on the cover, as they have nothing to do with this story. Don`t know why they`re on, but not too bad of a movie. I love Sean Bean, but can`t get away with the American accent.

A so-so movie about drugs labs and crime families. As much as I love a Sean Bean movie, I just don't grasp his American accent with both hands of plausibility. Nonetheless a well watchable film.

Boring and slow-was nearly good but too slow. Main character was semi interesting but the rest of the plot was boring cliché. Not at all what I was expecting, disappointed. Would not recommend
