Great book for those considering getting chickens. Since I have already had chickens for 5 months most of the info in the book wasn't necessarily all that helpful. However, if I had read it before getting chickens I would have found it very helpful. I did really enjoy the list of foods that chickens can be given beyond their regular feed. Overall, I highly recommend these books if you are seriously considering getting chickens.

5.0 out of 5 stars A must have for the chicken raising beginner 20 May 2014

The is a small comprehensive pamphlet type book. The information in the book is important and necessary if you're thinking about raising chickens. I don't care what anybody tells you. Do the homework and thorough research before embarking on raising chickens. It is crap when any source tells you it is easy. The beginning of the book tells you it is easy, and then you realize after reading it that you really need to have it together before embarking on this venture. It's unfair and inhumane if you don't consider all the factors. DON"T get chicks or chickens without doing your homework first. Read this book first. Then decide. Raising chickens is a commitment.
