Mid-tempo gems from the Philadelphia International label's golden era.

What makes this compilation so unique is that most of its songs are not uptempo enough or fast enough to be considered Disco numbers yet they are most definitely NOT ballads--instead, they are mid-tempo Philly Soul tracks that are not very well-known but that are nonetheless excellent examples of what made the "Philly Sound" so dearly loved all over the world. Billy Paul, Lou Rawls, Jean Carne, Archie Bell & The Drells and several of Philadelphia International's other artists are all featured here and the remastering quality on all tracks is superb. If only music as good as this could be made today...
