5.0 out of 5 stars One of the best (if not the best) in the series 4 April 2007
Format:Audio CD
The Back to Mine series...an obvious take on the phrase spoken amongst clubbers after a big night "lets go back to mine"...and so we hear what artists would be playing on their stereos if we went back to theirs.

Namely it's a collection of choons that obviously inspired the artist, but also with a chill out element.

I had never heard of Richard X until aquiring this album, but I love this album. It has a real sense of humour about it. Lots of 80s tracks "you'll always find him in the kitchen at parties" and Heaven 17 among them.

By far the stand out track...and prob the best reason for getting this is Pete Shelley (formally of the Buzzcocks) doing Homosapien...the full 6 min version. It's outstanding. Mix this up with some electro, and hip hop and you've got a perfect genre blending album.

Cause lets face it, no one likes just one type of music. We've all a selection of genres in our CDs. This album moves through electro, hip-hop, 80s and post punk in a beautiful way.

Not just for chilling out, this is probably one of the more upbeat Back to Mine albums. Buy it. Now.

5.0 out of 5 stars Quirky and cool 20 Dec 2005
Format:Audio CD
This is a great compilation of quirky tracks. Lots of its 80s electronica, which is great because I love 80s electronica. The album is worth you're money just because of the excellent Heaven 17 track.
The Silures 21 ghosts is also excellent, but takes some listening to + and volume pushed high to get the full effect :)

4.0 out of 5 stars Some sweet tracks, but uninspiring 23 Jan 2008
Format:Audio CD|Verified Purchase
Richard X has put similar tracks to what you'd expect him to put on here (considering his now deleted "Richard X Presents ... Vol 1" - even though it never got to Vol 2) - and they are really interesting tracks. "You'll always find him in the kitchen" is such a great lyric! But, it is uninspiring when compared to other Back To Mine titles, in particular, Lamb's version.

3.0 out of 5 stars Ecclectic electronic collection has something for everyone 24 July 2004
By A. Whitney - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Audio CD
I heard this CD while in a record store in England. I was looking for some music to take along on a road trip and this CD was great. It has a blend of 80s through modern music with a cool electronic music undercurent. The verison of Pete Shelley's Homosapien(Dub) is great and reignited my love for the song. You'll Always Find Me In The Kitchen At Parties by Jona Lewie is a fun beat with a cool affected monotone vocal. The big surprise is music from John Carpenter's film Assault on Precinct 13. While it isn't my favorite track it is bold and interesting. Trans X's Living in Video is a great track for parties and when friends are over.

All in all it was a varied and interesting CD that made our 10+hours of driving the English moors more interesting.
